Why I wrote Desert Shock

At the time I wrote Desert Shock (Saga 6), I read about a crime that took place in Idaho. Since I needed another story for my SF series, I adapted some of the news report into this crime retelling. My main character is a Tucson police officer in the 25th century and how police procedures don't change much in 300 years.
